A chat between two strangers only works if both people feel okay in it. That is not an accident. It is a handful of agreed rules, followed by most people and enforced on the few who do not.
These are ours. They are written in plain language because rules nobody can follow are not rules. They apply to everyone: new members, long-time members, and us.

What we expect from everyone
- Be kind. You can say no, skip, or leave, and so can they. Do not mock, shame or insult anyone.
- Respect consent. Do not pressure, trick or corner someone into anything. A no, a silence or a skip is an answer.
- Be who you say you are. Do not impersonate another person or pretend to be someone you are not.
- Keep it legal. Nothing that breaks the law where you live or where the other person lives.
- Protect privacy. Do not record, screenshot or share anyone without their clear permission.
- Take no for an answer. If someone leaves, let them leave.
What is not allowed
No harassment, threats, hate speech or stalking. No content involving minors, and no one who appears to be under 18 is welcome here. If you think you have met someone underage, report them immediately.
No requests for money, gift cards, transfers or card details. No scams, no phishing links, and no promoting another service in the chat. No bots, scripts or automated tools.
No sharing of private information about another person, including their contact details, address or workplace.

Why these rules exist
Because a chat between strangers works only if both people feel okay in it. A site can have the best matching in the world and still be unpleasant if the people on it are not held to anything.
We would rather lose a user who will not follow the rules than lose ten who just wanted a friendly conversation. That is the trade, and we think it is the right one.
When a rule is broken
This is how reports are handled.

Use the report option in the chat. Tell us what happened as clearly as you can.

Our moderation team looks at the report along with any history on the account.

We act
Depending on what happened, that can mean a warning, a restriction or removal from the service.

You are protected
The person you reported is not told who reported them.
Our own commitments
We will tell you plainly what is free and what costs coins. We will keep block, report and skip within reach. We will not sell your conversations and we will not publish them. The privacy policy explains what we do keep, and the terms of service cover the legal side.
Questions people ask
What happens if I break a rule?
Depending on what happened, you may get a warning, a restriction or removal from the service. Serious or repeated violations lead to removal.
Is anyone under 18 allowed?
No. If you think someone is underage, report them straight away.
Will the person I report know it was me?
No. We do not tell people who reported them.
Can I appeal a decision?
Yes. Write to support[at]jerkmate1v1.com (replace [at] with @) with the details and we will take another look.
